2020 CTBTA Annual Appeal
Since its founding in 2007, the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance has supported the local brain tumor community so that no one has to face this disease alone. With thanks to you, our partners in the fight against this disease, we have made remarkable strides in our mission to advance brain tumor awareness, quality of care and brain tumor research while providing hope to all who encounter this disease. However, the incidence of a brain tumor diagnosis remains high and with the impact of Covid-19 on our organization, our ability to provide the services necessary to be a part of the journey with the brain tumor community has been impacted. Through it all though, we remained resilient and committed to supporting the brain tumor community.
We celebrated Brain Tumor Awareness Month with our Miles for May campaign, raising funds to support the ER doctors and nurses at our partner hospitals with a sweet treat from the Cupcake Brake; in September, we hosted Brainstormin', a socially distanced in-person fundraiser with a virtual component; and in October, we walked apart but together in spirit for our annual Path of Hope, 5K.
Please, help us finish the year on a high note by donating before December 31st to alleviate the adversity caused by the current climate. By making your charitable donation, you will be directly helping reduce the stress and anxiety felt by all brain tumor patients during these unprecedented times.
With your gift, the CTBTA will be positioned to:
• Propel our Patient and Caregiver Outreach by taking away the overwhelm and giving hope to those who feel like they're in their darkest hour;
• Ensure that critical research continues by providing researchers with funding they need, especially where the focus has shifted to Covid-19 relief efforts;
• Provide financial support for nurse navigators and specialized medical equipment to improve patient comfort and the effectiveness of diagnostic and treatment procedures; and
• Help brain tumor patients and families meet necessary living expenses to ensure their primary focus can remain on their care and recovery through our Patient Assistance Funds.
Here in Connecticut, 2020 began with great excitement and hope in the battle against brain tumors, but we have an uphill battle to climb. Please consider donating today to help us in our quest to make Connecticut a center of excellence in brain tumor care, as well as providing support to our partner hospitals that have been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
