The Johnson Family Playing for the Cure: Brainstormin' Event
Please help me support Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance's great cause! Additionally, you can ask me how you can get involved too. Together, we can make a difference!
The past 12 months have been especially difficult for my family. Last August, my wife Wendy was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, it was treated and she is doing great. Then, in April, I was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Astrocytoma. Unfortunately, the prognosis is not so great. Our world has been turned upside down. I have had to re-evaluate so many things; including my family’s future and my career in public service. All, because there is no cure to date.
I am honored to be receiving the “June Rice Courage Award” and the nomination by the medical staff at Yale Smilow Cancer Center. I will accept the award on behalf of all of my family, friends, medical team and everyone else that has helped me fight this horrible disease. I cannot thank everyone enough and pledge to keep fighting.
We would love to see you all there to support such a worthy cause.
