From Johnathon's 2021 campaign: Hello everyone, today I'd like to talk about something very near and dear to me, in hopes that the sharing of my story might benefit others. In December of 2019, at the age of 32, I was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. My tumor is located in my brainstem, so it cannot be removed. I have undergone treatment with corticosteroids, radiation, and chemotherapy to stop the disease from progressing. Currently, the tumor is stable, but I get an MRI every couple of months to check for progression, and I can attest that those checkups are quite nerve racking. I don't know if or when my tumor will start to advance once more, so I've chosen to live each day as if it were my last. For the manner in which I have faced and continue to face my condition, I'm being awarded with a Cancer Courage Award by the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance. For those who would like to know more about this award, maybe even donate a bit for the cause, see the link below. For those that may be dealing with cancer right now, know that you're not alone, and if you ever need someone to reach out too, my inbox is always open.
