This September, I'm proud to support the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance as they host their 12th annual Brainstormin' event at Stony Creek Brewery on Thursday, September 4th! I’ll be attending in honor of my dad, who continues to face his battle with brain cancer with unwavering strength.
For those who may not know our story, back in October 2019, my dad had a seizure while golfing and was later diagnosed with glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat brain cancers. The news was devastating, as glioblastoma carries a grim prognosis and limited treatment options.
Since then, he’s undergone brain surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, and has continued to fight with incredible strength—surpassing the average 8-month survival rate by years. This October will mark SIX incredible years since his diagnosis—a true testament to his resilience.
One of the most cherished moments of my life was last May, when my dad walked me down the aisle at my wedding—something I had only dreamed of. His determination and hope made that moment possible, and I am truly prouder than ever to be his daughter.
Glioblastoma has deeply affected our lives in ways we never expected, but our mission now is to raise awareness and support others navigating this diagnosis.
Join us on Thursday, September 4th for this year’s Brainstormin' Event—whether attending or donating, your support matters. Event details can be found above, and every ticket and donation goes directly to the CTBTA’s mission.
Since its founding, the CTBTA has contributed over $1.8 million to support brain tumor patients and their families—funding research, providing assistance, and enhancing care across Connecticut. Their goal is to make our state a leader in brain tumor treatment and support.
Together, we can create change and offer hope. Because no one should face a brain tumor diagnosis alone.
