This September, I’m honored to participate in the Brainstormin’ event in support of the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance, an organization that has become incredibly meaningful to my family. I’m fundraising in honor of my dad, whose strength and resilience continue to inspire us every single day.
In the fall of 2019, after suffering a sudden seizure while golfing, my dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. Since that day, our lives have been forever changed. We’ve faced surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, endless appointments, and the emotional roller coaster that comes with a diagnosis like this. Through every setback, my dad has met each challenge with remarkable courage and an unwavering will to keep fighting.
After nearly seven years of battling this disease, we were heartbroken to learn that the cancer had returned last month. On June 25th, my dad underwent his second brain surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Thanks to his incredible medical team, the surgery was successful, and he is now beginning a year of chemotherapy. While this wasn’t the news we had hoped for, we remain grateful for every day, every milestone, and every opportunity to keep moving forward together.
Brain tumors don’t just impact the person diagnosed - they impact entire families. They test your strength, change your perspective, and teach you to never take a single moment for granted. That’s why supporting organizations like the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance is so important. They provide hope, resources, and support to patients and families navigating one of life’s most difficult journeys.
Please join us on Thursday, September 17, for this year’s Brainstormin’ event. Whether you attend, donate, or simply help spread awareness, your support truly makes a difference for families like mine.
Thank you for standing with us, believing in hope, and helping us continue the fight against brain tumors. Together, we can make a difference.
