Margaret was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma on July 16, 2015. After a successful surgery which removed most of the tumor, she began chemotherapy and radiation. For the next year, Margaret had routine MRIs and on July 22, 2016 she celebrated a year of no new growth. Soon after, at her routine MRI, a new growth was discovered. Margaret explored a clinical trial to boost her immune system to help her body fight the tumor. However, the clinical trial resulted in the deterioration of her bone marrow. Margaret received countless blood and platelet transfusions but they were not enough to restore her bone marrow and on January 21, 2017, Margaret lost her fight.
