In Memory Of Fred And Patricia

In Memory of Fred and Patricia

My family and I will be walking on 5/2 at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford CT. What better way to honor my father Fred’s memory by walking to help raise funds for research!! He was diagnosed at a local hospital and then within 2 weeks we were at his funeral. We were told that the tumor was the most aggressive kind and that within 24 hours of his surgery it had most likely grown back. In 2012 on September 11th I was diagnosed with a brain tumor (subependymoma) which was found inadvertently on an MRI that was being performed looking for sinus issues. My ENT said that my sinuses were fine. He referred me to a doctor for a consultation and at that consultation this particular doctor referred me to Dr. Piepmeier at Yale. A friend from work had heard of the CTBTA and forwarded me their link and that is how I became familiar with this wonderful organization. My surgery was successful and I was fortunate to be in very good hands will need to be monitored on a regular basis.
Our close family friend was affected by a brain tumor when her mother (Patricia) passed away in 2014 from a glioblastoma. The CTBTA Path of Hope has been something we’ve participated in since the first walk in their memory. Hopefully, the money raised will someday make these horrible tumors a thing of the past.
Please help us support Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance by making a contribution to our team and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar we raise will advance Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance's great cause!

Together, we can make a difference!
